What is your role at AccuBooks?
As the Chief Executive Officer, I'm responsible for overseeing the company's operations.
What initially drew you to a career in accounting, and how did you end up at AccuBooks?
I’ve always been a “numbers” person and my interest in accounting was sparked during an introductory class in high school. This passion led me to pursue a BSBA in Accounting at Creighton University. After over 25 years as a CFO in a private company, I was brought in to lead AccuBooks.
What qualities do you bring to AccuBooks and its clients?
In my role at AccuBooks, my strength lies in my meticulous attention to detail and my knack for turning financial chaos into organized, actionable information for our clients. I thrive on transforming intricate bookkeeping challenges into valuable insights that empower our clients to make informed decisions.
What qualities do you believe a good firm should possess? Why?
Active listening is key. Understanding clients’ needs and goals for their business allows us to tailor our services to provide the most effective solutions. It’s about fostering a partnership and ensuring that we contribute in a way that aligns with their vision and objectives.
How do you like to spend your free time? What are your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors – running, cycling, hiking, etc. I’ve run multiple marathons and recently hiked rim-to-rim at the Grand Canyon.

What initially drew you to a career in accounting, and how did you end up at AccuBooks?
I graduated with a BSBA from UNO in 1988, and my journey into small business bookkeeping began in 1990; I loved the flexibility of the field because it allowed me to work part-time while raising my family. I currently independently manage various accounts for Ostronic & Associates, but it was through this work that I was recommended to a new company taking shape. This recommendation marked the beginning of my involvement with AccuBooks.
What qualities do you bring to AccuBooks and its clients?
I take pride in my commitment to accuracy and honesty in all aspects of my work. Being inherently detail-oriented, I ensure precision in every task. I’ve also been working with QuickBooks since its development in 1992, so I’m about as familiar with the program as one can get!
What qualities do you believe a good firm should possess? Why?
Honesty and integrity are especially important when working with business finances; business owners rely on us to handle their financial information with the utmost confidentiality. Building and maintaining trust is at the core of what we do, and our commitment to transparency sets the foundation for strong and reliable partnerships with our clients.
How do you like to spend your free time? What are your hobbies and interests?
I actively participate in my church and volunteer on several committees, primarily focusing on groundskeeping. I like to sew, paint, and garden. Being a parent to seven children, I recently entered the phase of empty nesting; my kids have moved all around the country, so I’m looking forward to traveling in the years to come!

Over the years, I’ve held roles as a full-charge bookkeeper for multiple national franchises, as well as various positions in credit management and brand management. In 2022, I brought my skills to AccuBooks, where I continue to thrive in combining my love for numbers with a commitment to client relationships.
